Mission Statement
At Excel, our programs build confidence and self-esteem in all our students while fostering their passion for dance in a safe and nurturing environment. We believe that all students deserve full commitment from their qualified instructors and studio, regardless of experience and skill level to ensure proper education, culture of positivity, and age appropriate material. Excel is more than dance! Our dancers go beyond technique to grow important life skills, learning to be respectful, confident, and compassionate young people who share their gifts and talents with the community. Every single class, every single child, every single time!
Welcome to Excel Dance Centre in Kalamazoo!
Since 2004 Excel has been a non-competitive Performing Arts studio located in the Kalamazoo/Portage, Michigan area (Texas Corners).
Excel offers a renovated 7,000 square foot facility with four large studios equipped with state of the art sprung wood floors and convenient viewing windows. Students love taking a break, grabbing a snack, or just hanging out in our lounge area.
With experienced, youthful instructors, Excel prides itself in not only helping your dancer grow in technique, but also as a self-confident, compassionate and responsible student in a fun and safe environment. Our teachers continue their commitment to the studio and our dancers by attending regional and national dance conventions to bring fresh and exciting material to all of our students – ages two through adult.
Excel offers a wide variety of classes including; Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Gym, Musical Theatre, Performance Teams and Zumba. All classes, music, costuming etc., are age-appropriate and focus on student growth and development of skill in a bright, fun and family-friendly environment!

EXCEL IS A SAFER STUDIO™
Excel Dance Centre is taking all measures to create a safer studio environment beginning with requiring staff and students who are ill to stay home, followed by frequent hand cleansing and good hygiene practices, amplified cleaning and making curricular and facility adaptations to minimizing contact and mingling.
